Our Clinicians

Medical Director & Clinician

Greg Steinke, MD, MPH

A graduate of Loma Linda University, Dr. Greg Steinke is dual board-certified in Family and Preventive Medicine with an emphasis on Lifestyle Medicine. Beyond his clinical practice, he is a published author and community educator focused on reversing chronic diseases through nutrition and lifestyle changes. Greg also contributes to the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, helping shape the future of the field.

Beyond the stethoscope, Greg is a Vancouver native who met his wife, Heather, while on a medical mission in Africa. Now a proud Tennessee resident, he spends his free time play-wrestling with his two children, exploring the woods, or sharing a song on his guitar. He is proud to provide expert, compassionate care for families at LifeMed Clinic.

Clinician

Julia Danforth, MD

A graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Dr. Julia is dual board-certified in Family and Lifestyle Medicine. Following her residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, she became a dedicated member of both the American Academy of Family Practice and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Julia has spent her career focusing on the healing process, particularly through community-based programs for diabetes and depression reversal. As a certified expert in plant-based nutrition, she is also the heart behind the "Living Well" support group in Calhoun, where she shares her lifelong passion for helping others thrive in body, mind, and spirit.

When she isn’t seeing patients, Julia enjoys the simple pleasures of life in Georgia. You might find her walking through the woods, playing the organ, or testing out a new recipe in the kitchen to share with friends. She is a devoted wife and grandmother who treasures time with her daughter and new granddaughter. For Julia, medicine is a calling to help others draw closer to a life of wholeness, finding balance through her faith, her music, and the great outdoors.

Clinician

Elizabeth Perry, DNP

Elizabeth is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctorate in Lifestyle Medicine from Southern Adventist University. As a certified health coach, she has led numerous community health initiatives throughout the Greater Chattanooga area and is deeply committed to helping individuals achieve optimal wellness. Elizabeth’s passion for medicine was sparked by observing the impact of lifestyle choices within her own family, inspiring her to specialize in weight loss, metabolic health, and hormonal and GI balance.

A true enthusiast for the outdoors, Elizabeth spends her free time hiking, mountain biking, and exploring local lakes and rivers with her husband and two boys. When she isn't in the clinic or with her family, she is often training for her next endurance challenge, as a dedicated participant in triathlons and marathons. For Elizabeth, healthcare is about more than just treatment; it’s about understanding the gift of the human body and making the daily choices that allow it to flourish.

Clinician

Lilly Tryon, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, DipACLM, NBC-HWC, ACSM-EP

With over 35 years of nursing experience, Lilly is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who holds a Master’s degree from Drexel University and a Doctorate in Lifestyle Medicine from Southern Adventist University. Her extensive credentials include certifications in health coaching, plant-based nutrition, and exercise physiology. When she isn’t serving patients at LifeMed Clinic, Lilly is a dedicated educator at Southern Adventist University, where she focuses on expanding the role of lifestyle medicine in advanced nursing practice.

This philosophy has led her to develop specialized training workshops for faith-based health ministries and community outreach. Outside of her professional life, Lilly is an avid traveler and outdoorswoman who loves camping, hiking, and kayaking. She treasures time spent quilting, cooking, or relaxing with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her favorite way to end the day is with a quiet moment, a good book, and a purring cat on her lap.
